The misspellings tool allows you to add common misspellings to your site’s search function. When you create a misspelling, you connect it to a correctly spelled word. When a user performs a search with the misspelled word, they will receive the results for the correctly spelled word that correspond to that misspelling. This is a critical step to take for important keywords- often, the visitor may not realize they have misspelled a word, and will just assume your site does not have any content related to their query.
The main misspellings screen contains a searchable table that displays all misspellings that you have created and the correctly spelled search word to which each misspelling corresponds. To delete a misspelling from the table, hover your cursor over a row on the table and click the trash button that appears.
To create a misspelling, click the “New” button in the upper-right corner of the main misspellings screen.
When you click the "New" button, an overlay appears that has two text fields—one for a misspelled word (top) and one for a correctly spelled word (bottom).
After inserting a word into each text box, click the “Create” button at the bottom of the screen to create your misspelling. You can create multiple misspellings for the same correctly spelled word; however, each misspelling requires its own entry.
