Autocomplete is a feature that uses end-user behavior to make predictions of what the user is searching for. This helps the end user find recommend search suggestions faster, allowing them to be more efficient with their experience. The three types we offer are:
- Legacy Autocomplete
- Rich Autocomplete
- Intelligent Autocomplete
Legacy Autocomplete will recommend suggested terms based on the character matches it finds with page titles from pages that are included the search index.
With legacy autocomplete, misspellings will be considered after the search has been executed.
Intelligent Autocomplete *COMING SOON - BETA VERSION AVAILABLE NOW*
Intelligent Autocomplete uses Machine Learning to present the most relevant results and are specific to an engine. Unlike our standard autocomplete, it uses end-user search behavior to derive the results.
It predicts the most likely word and/or phrase for the end user and will adjust the options as they continue to enter characters into the search. Intelligent Autocomplete also considers things like misspellings and provides suggestions to end users in real-time.
Want to test it out? Simply go to Settings -> Website Settings in MyCludo and activate:
Rich Autocomplete will use Legacy or Intelligent Autocomplete to recommend search terms based on the page titles, but it would also include a section that recommends search results or pages that would directly send the end-user to that page, skipping the search results page.
There may be additional cost in added Rich Autocomplete to your subscription.
