Autocomplete is a feature that uses end-user behavior to make predictions of what the user is searching for by providing suggested searches as they type. This helps the end user search faster, resulting in a smoother, more efficient experience. The three types we offer are:
- Intelligent Autocomplete
- Title Autocomplete
- Rich Autocomplete
Intelligent Autocomplete (default)
Intelligent Autocomplete uses Machine Learning to present the most relevant suggestions and is specific to an engine. It uses end-user search behavior to derive the results.
Based on previous user behavior and successful searches, Intelligent Autocomplete predicts the most likely search word(s) for the end user and will adjust the options as they continue to enter characters into the search. Intelligent Autocomplete also considers things like misspellings and provides suggestions to end users in real-time.
Title Autocomplete will suggest terms based on the character matches it finds with search result titles from pages that are included the search index.
Rich Autocomplete will use Intelligent Autocomplete to recommend search terms, but it would also include a section that recommends search results or pages that would send the end-user directly to that page, skipping the search results page.
There may be additional cost in adding Rich Autocomplete to your subscription.
