Cludo now introduces a whole new section to the MyCludo platform: Intents.
What are Intents?
Intents can be translated to search topics or common search objectives.
How is an Intent built?
An Intent is a common user objective. It's determined by applying machine learning to analyze multiple related search terms that lead visitors through a similar path to find content on your website.
Improve your content
While Intents, without a doubt, will help you improve your site search experience, this data is even more helpful when it comes to forming or improving your general content strategy.
A few things Intents can help you improve:
- Your navigation
You can use the data from Intents as a part of your strategy when it comes to arranging your website navigation

can help you discover - and recover - content gaps
- Your search
Three types of Intents
Intents are split into three sections: ineffective, trending, and top Intents.
Ineffective Intents are themes in the search where users have difficulty finding what they’re looking for. Ineffective Intents use click-through rate and search frequency to calculate the severity of their ineffectiveness.
Ineffective Intents reveal areas of your search that aren’t working due to a high rate of failure to find the desired content. Help these lost users find their destination!
Tip: When opening an ineffective Intent, you'll see that some search terms have a good CTR (effective) while others have a very low CTR (making them ineffective). Use synonyms to bridge the gap between those.
Trending Intents highlight themes of your search that have seen increased search traffic compared to the previous period. The period is determined by the selected date range.
It's important to make your search as dynamic as your users are. Identifying trending Intents early can help keep your content as aligned as possible with user interest.
Tip: Look for weekly, monthly, and seasonal patterns within trending Intents to anticipate what visitors will be looking for in your website content.
Top Intents are the most popular search themes across your site search. They allow you to keep a pulse on your website's most sought after content.
Tip: Create banners for your top Intents to highlight promotional content where you know it will be seen most.
